The HB Open ended with a very competitive final between George Crosby and Chris Lloyd. Congratulations to “Chris who won the 5th set 12-10 after saving a match ball!”
Thanks to all who have signed up to represent the club for 2017 Winter Interclub. The teams and draws should be announced shortly.
Progress is underway on patching the holes on courts 1 and 4, as well as the replacement light over court 3. Thanks for your patience while we attend to these repairs. While the patching issue is not a simple process, we will be managing it with the aim of minimizing any interruption to day-to-day use of the courts.
Join us at the Herne Bay Ponsonby Rackets Club on Thursday 27th April from 5-7pm for an Exhibition event with Kashif Shuja, 5 times NZ National Champion, Highest World Ranking of 36, 10 PSA World Tour titles.

Entries have now closed for Winter Squash Interclub which starts the week beginning 1st May 2017.
The deluge of rain keeps coming and the Club is trying to keep the water out while the Auckland City Council address the issue. We have had several site visits and are working toward a long term solution.
On the positive side, the Masters games players have expressed their appreciation for allowing them to use our courts last week when theirs were flooded with serious damage.
Thanks also to Chris Lloyd for assisting us with taupolines and sandbags. These have been placed externally on the Emergency Exit Door behind squash court one and the two gym doors. Please do not open the doors until the bags have been removed.
Please note there is no Junior Squash Club Night Friday 14th, 21st or 28th April due to Easter and the School Hoidays.
Junior Squash Holiday Program
A Squash School Holiday program will be run at the Club by Mike Weston on Tuesday 18th, Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th of April from 1-3pm. $40 per day. Please contact Mike on 0211811760 or westonmike@hotmail.com to book a place.
Junior Squash Jets
The Herne Bay Junior Jets team will be continuing in Term 2, this is a Sunday morning team of three players that competes with two North Shore clubs. Please contact diannaperron@me.com if you would like to join the team. We would love some new players for our team, you are not committed to every Sunday as we keep a few reserves availalbe.
