Cricket Ticket giveaway!

Dave Worsley has very generously offered free family passes (2 adults, 2 kids) to the Twenty20 cricket at Eden Park for the 14-16th November matches to all our lovely HBPRC members!

Want a pass? All you need to do is reply to this email and tell me the thing you love most about your Club to reserve your free pass! (You don't need kids to use the passes and there are no catches).

A new concept in local cricket is aiming to make the sport and New Zealand cricket stars accessible and affordable to the public.

New Zealand's premier Twenty20 cricket competition has a new name, new sponsor and new format. It’s now called the Georgie Pie Super Smash with six festival weekends at venues with lights, featuring a Friday night match, and double headers on Saturdays and Sundays for a full day's entertainment, starting at family-friendly times. Eden Park gets its turn 14-16 November.

Friday 14 November features the Mondiale Auckland Aces against the Wellington Firebirds at 7.10pm. The Aces have the likes of internationals Mitchell McClenaghan, Martin Guptill, Colin Munro and Kyle Mills. The Wellington Firebirds have a heap of former internationals such as James Franklin, Mark Gillespie and Grant Elliot.

Saturday has the Mondiale Aces up against the Central Stags at 3.40pm followed by Northern Districts (likely to feature the legendary Daniel Vettori) playing the Wellington Firebirds at 7.10pm.

Sunday 16th November commences with Central and Wellington at 12.50pm and the Mondiale Aces clashing with Northern (who wear bright pink uniforms) at 4.10pm

There’s a move for improved at-ground entertainment including a bigger kids areas, the Zing stumps, trade show elements, as well as new food and beverage options. Tickets are only $10, with kids under 16 free, and there will be enough space in the stands for families to spread out as well as feel safe.

New Security Gates

Our very long awaited new security gate will be erected tomorrow (Friday). YAY! This will be located at the far end of tennis court 4 at the end of the ramp. This is due to a number of members' concerns about the security of the facility, as well as preventing non members from using the facilities for free.

The catch will be, if you hit a tennis ball over the fence (not naming anyone!) you will need to go through the gate to collect your ball. The gate will only be able to be opened from the inside, so all members must ensure the gate is closed on return.

Any questions or concerns? As always, please pass them on.
