Well the day's are getting shorter and the evenings just a little cooler so that must mean that another tennis season is coming to a close. You wouldn't know it, thanks to this great sunny spell were in and if you're making the most of it by working on your game for interclub or socially then I wish you all the very best!
If you haven't already guessed, I'm the new club captain for tennis and carrying on from the previous captain, Scott's solid work. The handover has been a good one though there are plenty of things I'm still gaining knowledge on, please do say hello and let me know any ideas you have. If you have a problem then by all means let me know but also brings me a solution- I'm not as clever as I look!
Our club champs finished on the on the 28th in glorious weather and it was good to see a great turnout of kids and parents alike observing some great matches.
For those of you who couldn't make it then this is how it went:
Men's Open Singles Winner and Men's Club Champ: Peter Hunter- Runner up - George Crosby.
Women's Open Singles Winner and Women's Club Champ- Tracey Josephson runner up- Candice Smith
Men's Open Doubles winners- Brendan Bell and Peter Hunter - Runners up were Bruce Cullen and Dan Josephson.
Women's Open Doubles Winners- Tracey Cochrane and MarieSchollum and runners up were Tracey Josephson and Nanette Cullen.
Mixed Open winners - Brendan Bell and Jacqui Thompson- Runners up Peter Hunter and Tracey Cochrane.
Men's B Singles Winner Brett Pollock- Runner up- John Isbey.
Women's B Singles winner Laura Isbey- Runner up Shelley McCamish
Men's B Doubles Brett Pollock and Andrew Chisholm - Runners up- John Hetet and John Isbey.
Women's B doubles winners Leanne Powell and Shelley McCamish - Runners ups Sophie Heighway and Larelle Sokolich
Mixed B winners Shelley McCamish and Scott Griffiths - Runners up Laura Isbey and Graham Wilson.
Prizegiving
Will be held later on this year- TBA.
Juniors
Please note that a Juniors playing times are as follows and as long as they follow the booking rules of courts are both members then the same rights as adults apply- Just to reiterate :
Mon - Friday till 5pm. Sat/ Sunday till 12am.
If playing with an adult member then Junior times apply.
Adult Club days
Wednesday 6pm till late
Sundays 1 - 6pm
